A superb musician/singer, Nuci Nebieridze is a compelling jazz artist whose clear, bell-like voice, distinct musicality and soulful expression all come together to form an intensely appealing and powerful musical package.Ms. Nebieridze grew up in Tbilisi, Georgia, among a family of artists and studied classical piano as a child. An accomplished painter, she went on to graduate from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts with a bachelor’s degree in film/fine art. She moved her concentration to music, and enrolled at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, where she majored in vocal jazz performance. She is currently a student at The School of Jazz at the New School in New York City.Since 2010, Ms. Nebieridze has appeared internationally, performing in Georgia, Germany, Scotland, England and the United States. Equally comfortable in jazz and pop settings, she has been featured at the National Georgian Music Festival “Art Gene” and performed concerts at Tbilisi Event Hall, one of the most prominent jazz venues in Georgia. Other appearances include the Black Sea Jazz Festival, Tbilisi Open Air, and concerts at Tbilisi Conservatoire Hall. During this period, she was invited to record at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire’s “Music Technology Studio," an honor resulting in a highly successful collaboration with some of Georgia' most prominent jazz performers. In 2015 Ms. Nebieridze formed a group using guitar/vocals/loop/electro sound effects and performed live in venues across Georgia. In 2015-2016, she was heard singing soul, funk and blues at concerts held by the Georgian Ministry of Culture. In 2016, Ms. Nebieridze performed with an orchestra at the solo concert of Guliko Chanturia, the distinguished Dean of Jazz Vocal Faculty at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. She has also appeared on television: both on the Georgian version of the hit show, “The Voice,” as well as the equally popular “X Factor” where she caught the attention of the judges and the Georgian public.Ms. Nebieridze made her New York City debut at Richard Bona’s Club Bonafide in November 2016, and was invited back to perform there in December 2016. Even as she considers jazz to be a dialogue about the transformation of struggle into the positive energy of creative power, so Ms. Nebieridze’s goal is to give voice to her rich inner world through her original music.
